The City of Bowie holds annual auditions for individuals or groups wishing to perform at special events hosted by the city, such as the Memorial Day Parade, Bowiefest, and the Bowie International Festival.

Performers must be prepared to sing the National Anthem a cappella and one other song of their choice for a judging panel. Voice of Bowie candidates will be asked to read from a prepared script for a judging panel. The chosen performer(s) will be asked to perform on the date of the event and be available to perform, if needed, on the rain date that is scheduled for that event.
