Bowie residents Robert Johnson and Darius Stanton have partnered with Morgan State University to organize a two-day, statewide summit July 8-9 to address challenges in the black community. Invited guests include political candidates, lawmakers and organizations from around the state.

About the event sponsors

Johnson is president of My Brother's Keeper Prince George's County Network, which offers mentoring and previously sponsored a Juneteenth Father's Day event at Allen Pond Park in Bowie. Stanton serves as president of the executive board of the Maryland Black Caucus Foundation.
