For students looking for an out-of-this-world experience, attend the FIRE STEM workshop May 21. Build your own rocket in the morning and launch it later in the day. While you wait for the glue to dry, check out the other aerospace-themed challenges.

  • The free rocketry challenge and other workshops are open to students in grades 4-12.
  • Adult workshops will cover college admissions, financial aid and more.
  • Check-in is from 8:30 to 9 a.m. Lunch will be provided, followed by an awards ceremony.

Space is limited. Register on Eventbrite or email: rocketry@firestem.org.

The event is sponsored by a local youth chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), known as FIRE NSBE Jr.  The organization exposes young minds to STEM opportunities. For more information, check out the FIRE NSBE website: www.fireworksed.org.
