Bowie State University, Maryland’s oldest historically black University (HBCU), will celebrate its annual Founders Day with a keynote address from entrepreneur Luke Lawal. The 2011 Bowie graduate was still a student when he started a media company, HBCU Buzz, in his dorm room. The company is now the leading source of HBCU news. The ceremony will also honor recent retirees and 1,150 students who made the deans list. Alumni and friends are invited to attend along with students, faculty and staff.
