The Bowie Police Department is offering free self defense classes, known as rape aggression defense or RAD. The minimum age to attend is 13 and dress code is gym or workout attire. Space is limited. Call the city to register.

To complete the course and receive a certificate, participants must attend all the classes in the series. Select either a Monday or Wednesday series:

• Monday series starts April 11 and runs through May 16; note that one of the sessions is on Tuesday, April 26.
• Wednesday session starts April 13 and runs through May 18.
