Seeking judges:
- The Office of the Prince George's County Executive is accepting letters of interest and resumes from actively serving or retired judges wishing to be appointed as judge members for the trial boards.
- Ten judges will be selected.
Application deadline:
- Judges wishing to be considered should apply no later than 11:59 PM on May 8, 2024 via email to: pgcboardsvacancy@co.pg.md.us

Purpose of trial boards:
- The trial boards are responsible for adjudicating matters in which a police officer is subject to disciplinary action.
- Due to the large number of law enforcement agencies in Prince George’s County, county law states that the County Executive shall establish a roster of ten judge members to serve on a trial board, according to the county executive's newsletter.
- The trial boards were established as part of House bill 670, one of several bills under the Police Accountability Act, which passed the Maryland legislature in 2021 and went into effect in July 2022.
